So what do we do at Walk?
At Walk our experienced staff provide a number of services to keep your feet healthy. At your initial consultation we provide a comprehensive assessment where we discuss our findings and work with you to provide the best treatment plan.
Swift Microwave Therapy
Swift is a new technology, developed in the UK, which has been licenced for the general treatment of skin lesions in Podiatry and Dermatology. Swift uses microwave energy which is delivered through a special probe applied to the skin to treat the affected tissue.

All of our podiatrists are trained in the use of local anaesthetics for toenail surgery.
Dave is the nail surgery lead for a local NHS podiatry service, and has extensive experience in using minor surgical techniques for ingrowing toenails.
If you have an ingrowing nail or a troublesome thick or excessively curved nail, then this may be a suitable option.
Children's foot assessments
Assessing and treating children while they grow and develop.
Children's foot and leg development is important. All of our podiatrists are experienced in assessing foot problems in children of all ages.
If you need to assess your child or simply need some reassurance then contact Walk to see how we can help.
Shoe inserts to help support your feet to pain free functioning.
Orthoses can be used following a biomechanical assessment to help treat your pain and discomfort.
At Walk, we can provide simple orthoses or custom devices made specifically for your feet.
Foot mobilisation techniques
FMT works on the principle that "everything works better when it's in the right place". The everyday stresses and strains upon the body can lead to subtle changes in the position of joints. Often this will not cause any problems and there are no symptoms, however, sometimes this can lead to pain.
FMT is a painless set of techniques which aim to increase the range of motion at joints and reduce symptoms.
FMT is a useful addition to biomechanics rehabilitation, and can also be used as a treatment in it's own right.
Using a Western Medical approach with elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), small needles are inserted into the skin at specific points.
This can reduce tension in muscles leading to pain in other areas of the body, improve blood flow and help with the healing of soft tissue damage.
Often improving foot and lower limbs health is about knowledge. The staff at Walk are available to provide group health education in the local community.
If you are interested in foot health education from our team at Walk then please get in touch.
Shoes are very important in helping to support and protect your feet during day to day activities.
At Walk our podiatrists are experienced in providing footwear advice. We can order footwear for patients and keep a small stock in the clinic.
General foot and nail care
Keeping you mobile and pain free.
If you have problems looking after your feet then we can help. This may be due to thick nails, hard skin or difficulty reaching.
Our podiatrists understand your foot problems and how this can affect your day to day activities and will provide a treatment plan to suit you.
Diabetic foot assessments
Helping you to look after your feet if you have diabetes.
Diabetes is becoming more prevalent and is known to cause problems with feet and legs. It is important that patients with diabetes have regular assessments to ensure that problems are found early and treated effectively.
Our podiatrists are experienced in assessing the circulation and sensation of patients with diabetes and providing health education advice.
Fungal infections of the skin and nails are common. At Walk our podiatrists can help with the management of these problems.
Clearnail is a revolutionary therapy, using controlled micropenetration (CMP) to allow topcial medicatoon to reach the nail bed in higher concentrations than otherwise possible.
Foot and leg pain
Helping your feet to function pain free.
Do you have pain in your feet, legs or heels? Do you suffer from plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, or other muscle or joint problems? If so then contact Walk to see how we can help.
All our podiatrists can provide a biomechanical assessment to identify the cause of the problem and provide a treatment plan. This plan may involve stretching, orthoses and physical therapy.
Verrucae or plantar warts are common. Although most will regress with time, some can spread and be painful.
Verrucae affect everyone differently, therefore there is not one treatment which will suit everybody. At Walk our podiatrists will assess the verrucae and provide options for management.
Soft tissue rehabilitation
When injured, soft tissues (ligaments, muscles, tendons) are unable to deal with the normal stresses and strains placed upon them which leads to pain and disability.
Soft tissue mobilisation aims to improve the ability of the soft tissue to deal with these normal stresses and improve function.
Techniques involve the use of differencing grades of massage, working specifically with the injured tissue and it's anatomical location and direction within the foot and lower leg.
Creams, potions and lotions
At Walk we sell a number of products to help you manage your feet more effectively. This includes moisturising creams and treatments for fungal infections.
